May you\nhave the grace and wisdom
\nTo act kindly, learning
\nTo distinguish between what is
\nPersonal and what is not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May you be hospitable to\ncriticism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May you never put yourself\nat the centre of things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May you act not from\narrogance but out of service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May you work on yourself,
\nBuilding up and refining the ways of your mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May you learn to cultivate\nthe art of presence
\nIn order to engage with those who meet you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When someone fails or\ndisappoints you
\nMay the graciousness with which you engage
\nBe their stairway to renewal and refinement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May you treasure the gifts\nof the mind
\nThrough reading and creative thinking
\nSo that you continue to be a servant of the frontier
\nWhere the new will draw its enrichment from the old,
\nAnd you never become a functionary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May you know the wisdom of\ndeep listening,
\nThe healing of wholesome words,
\nThe encouragement of the appreciative gaze,
\nThe decorum of held dignity,
\nThe springtime of the bleak question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May you have a mind that\nloves frontiers
\nSo that you can evoke the bright fields
\nThat lie beyond the view of the regular eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May you have good friends
\nTo mirror your blind spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May leadership be for you
