Streamlining:\nImportant Insights Late in Life!<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In sorting through accumulated notes, books, journals,\nmagazines, personal items, letters and cards, as well as CD\u2019s \u2013 stored in\nboxes, drawers, cupboards \u2013 I became mindful <\/em>of the following\nreflections:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. False underlying premise<\/em>: That time would just go on endlessly! <\/li>
  2. Wrong thinking<\/em>: No concept of, or realization of the:
    1. Shortness of life; <\/li>
    2. Unpredictability of life. <\/li><\/ol><\/li>
    3. Erroneous thinking<\/em>: No concept of karma \u2013 specifically, the four laws of karma.
      1. No effect without cause <\/li>
      2. Effect similar to cause <\/li>
      3. Never loss of effect <\/li>
      4. Effect expands <\/li><\/ol><\/li>
      5. Consequences not thought about<\/em>: Did not think of the consequences of:
        1. Lack of discipline; <\/li>
        2. Lack of diligence; <\/li>
        3. Lack of character. <\/li><\/ol><\/li>
        4. Did not account for<\/em>: The Internet revolution! Therefore, I stored so many notes, magazines, books, etc. <\/li>
        5. Mistaken thinking<\/em>: False security and comfort in accumulating and hoarding! <\/li>
        6. The folly of hoarding! <\/em>
          1. What for? <\/li>
          2. GIVE instead!!! <\/li><\/ol><\/li>
          3. Brevity of life<\/em> \u2013 Think deeply about. <\/li>
          4. The PRESENT<\/em> \u2013 This is what is important. <\/li>
          5. Focus on that which goes beyond life and death<\/em> \u2013 the continuity of consciousness. <\/li>
          6. FOCUS<\/em>: Now focus on what is really important. <\/li>
          7. Understand my HABITUAL TENDENCY of hoarding<\/em>.
            1.  Has its roots in childhood! <\/li>
            2. I saved all my school exercise books in boxes, hidden deep in the cellar at home! <\/li><\/ol><\/li>
            3. Low self-esteem<\/em>:
              1. I\u2019m incomplete, not good enough.  <\/li>
              2. So, I’m always striving to achieve perfection, always looking for a solution outside of myself. <\/li><\/ol><\/li>
              3. Oblivious to the fact of<\/em>: The timeless, precious within. <\/li>
              4. No concept of<\/em>:
                1. Preciousness of time. <\/li>
                2. Life’s shortness. <\/li>
                3. Priorities in life. <\/li><\/ol><\/li>
                4. Realize<\/em>: That one cannot take ANYTHING with oneself! <\/li>
                5. ON LOAN ONLY<\/em>: Everything is on loan, so to speak \u2013 for a relatively short time. <\/li>
                6. STEWARDS only<\/em> \u2013 Be a good steward. <\/li>
                7. ON THIS EARTH<\/em>: We’re only temporary guests! <\/li>
                8. We’re not OWNERS! <\/em><\/li>
                9. WAKE UP!!! <\/em><\/li>
                10. Now be a good steward of<\/em>:
                  1. Time <\/li>
                  2. Energy <\/li>
                  3. Resources <\/li><\/ol><\/li>
                  4. See what I can GIVE from now on! <\/em><\/li>
                  5. Learn from my dear parents<\/em>:
                    1. My father<\/em>: He lovingly built our family home in a country town in the state of Victoria in Australia. Enjoyed it for a time. Then, the day came when he had to walk away from it \u2013 to leave it all, and go to a nursing home, where he died about two years later. <\/li>
                    2. My mother<\/em>: Suddenly left everything one winter, later in June afternoon after lunch \u2013 when she died of a heart attack! <\/li><\/ol><\/li>
                    3. There’s no need to hoard<\/em> \u2013 give; be generous!!! <\/li>
                    4. When the time is up for me \u2013<\/em> I will just have to go! <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
